Highland is a one-man auto electrical workshop on the northern edge of Gawler, and most of what rolls through the door has a tow ball on it. Caravans, campers, tourers and the 4WDs that drag them around.
The specialty is lithium battery and inverter upgrades: taking a van that runs out of power on the second night and turning it into one you stop thinking about. Solar controllers, DC-DC chargers, busbars, fusing and cable runs, all laid out so the next person who opens that hatch can read it.
Beyond the 12V side there is the mechanical half of a van that nobody else wants to touch. Electric brakes, stability control, wheel bearings, and the general repairs that come up while the van is already in the bay.
If the van cannot get here, Greg will come to it. If it can, you are welcome to drop in and have the problem looked at before anyone starts quoting.

Caravans and campers
The van work
Most of it starts as one job and turns into a proper look at how the van is put together. That is usually where the real problem is.
Solar and DC-DC charging
Victron MPPT controllers and DC-DC chargers fitted properly, with busbars, fusing and cable runs that are labelled and reachable. So you can see what the system is doing instead of guessing.
240V inverter installs
Shore power and inverter on a proper changeover, an M-E-N box where it belongs, and the compliance side done right. This is the part of a van nobody sees and everybody relies on.
Towing electrics and plug conversions
Round plug, flat plug, Anderson, or all three talking to each other after a new tow vehicle. Sorted so the van and the car agree, first go, every time.
Reversing cameras
Wired and wireless reversing cameras fitted, plus the ones that stopped working years ago and have been living on the to-do list since.
Caravan brakes and stability control
Electric brakes diagnosed, repaired and road tested. If the van is pushing you around or the controller is not talking to it, this is where you start.
Wheel bearings and brake servicing
Drums off, shoes and springs checked, bearings cleaned, packed and set. The cheapest job you will ever do compared to what it costs to skip it.
General caravan repairs
Not every van problem is electrical, and you should not need three trades to fix one caravan. Plenty gets sorted here that started out as something else.

The vehicle work
Same workshop, same bloke. The tow vehicle usually comes in with the van anyway.
Dual and auxiliary battery systems
Second batteries in 4WDs and tow vehicles, set up to charge on the move and run the fridge when you stop.
Auto electrical fault finding
The intermittent one that nobody else could pin down. Checked properly, found, and fixed rather than parts-swapped at your expense.
Putting right someone else's wiring
A fair bit of the work through here is sorting out electrical work that was not done well the first time. Bring it in and it gets looked at honestly.

Drive-through bay, so the van does not have to be reversed anywhere.
The workshop is set up around long rigs. You pull in one end and out the other, which matters more than it sounds like it should when you are towing something twenty-two feet long.
